For two months now, our volunteers, PhD students Maria Adriana Sabia and Paolo Salomone, have been working in the INFN LNGS (Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso) in Italy as part of a scientific mission, fulfilling the tasks set by the DarkWave project. They both are involved in the assembly and testing of silicon photomultipliers for the DarkSide-20k experiment. Their lab curator is Lucio Consiglio, who provides them with valuable guidance and mentorship. During the current months, young scientists have achieved good results, and we are very grateful to them for their dedication in this important research project. One of the main objectives of the DarkWave project is to support early stage scientists and provide them with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the development of their career. We look forward to further progress in this task.
