{"id":2087,"date":"2024-12-20T17:24:05","date_gmt":"2024-12-20T17:24:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/darkwave.astrocent.pl\/?p=2087"},"modified":"2024-12-20T17:24:06","modified_gmt":"2024-12-20T17:24:06","slug":"visit-from-infn-genova","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/darkwave.astrocent.pl\/index.php\/2024\/12\/20\/visit-from-infn-genova\/","title":{"rendered":"Visit from INFN Genova"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Views: 4<\/p>\n<p>While virtual collaboration has become a cornerstone of modern research, some tasks require hands-on efforts that can only be accomplished in person.&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Alessio Caminata<\/strong>&nbsp;from&nbsp;<strong>INFN Genova<\/strong>&nbsp;visited Astrocent for three days to collaborate with our team on the&nbsp;<strong>DarkSide-20k experiment&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 a major international initiative in the search for dark matter, one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in physics. The experiment will utilize a highly sensitive detector, to be built at the&nbsp;<strong>LNGS underground laboratory<\/strong>, filled with liquid argon to detect the extremely rare interactions between dark matter particles and argon nuclei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collaboration between\u00a0<strong>Astrocent<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>INFN<\/strong>\u00a0on this topic has been ongoing for several years.
