10–13 August — The DEAP-3600 collaboration convened at Carleton University for its twice-yearly meeting, held in hybrid format, to review recent results, define objectives, and discuss future prospects in the search for dark matter.
DEAP3600 is one of the world’s most sensitive experiments for Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP) dark matter detection. Its competitive sensitivity is achieved through the careful design of the detector located 2 km underground at SNOLAB in Canada.

Dr. Michał Olszewski, a member of Research Group 1 led by Prof. Marcin Kuźniak, has been awarded a grant from the National Science Centre in the Miniatura competition. His project, titled ‘Determination of the Sensitivity of the ARGO, DarkSide-20k, and DEAP-3600 Experiments to Supermassive Charged Gravitinos,’ will focus on the work being conducted by the Astrocent team in collaboration with international scientific partners in the search for dark matter.

]]>From 13 to 16 August, the DEAP-3600 collaboration meeting took place at SNOLAB in Sudbury, Canada. The DEAP-3600 collaboration is focused on the direct detection of dark matter using liquid argon, with the DEAP-3600 experiment being one of the significant projects in this field.
Members of Astrocent are actively involved in this collaboration. During the meeting, Sarthak Choudhary (group 1, led by Prof. Kuzniak) presented joint work on Pulse Shape Discrimination in DEAP-3600, conducted in collaboration with Prof. Gawron’s group 5. Additionally, Yuliya Hoika delivered a talk on science communication and outreach activities.
